Working with Organizations that Share Common Interests

partnerships & coalitions are critical to furthering our mission

The League of Women Voters of Thurston County (LWVTC) works with other organizations that share common interests. These partnerships or coalitions are critical to furthering the League’s mission including encouraging informed and active participation in government, increasing understanding of major public policy issues, influencing public policy through education and advocacy, and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Major partner goals must be consistent with League policies, positions, and priorities. The League does not participate in a coalition or organization where the primary purpose is to endorse or oppose candidates for public office, or to take a position in conflict with any national, state, or local League position.

The League may act on its own including on issues being addressed by the coalition and reserves the right to withhold its name or involvement in certain actions of a coalition and yet, remain a coalition member.  Coalition action using the League name, such as press releases, letters, litigation, lobbying and other public expressions of positions, must be approved by the LWVTC president.

By virtue of our affiliation with the state and national Leagues, we are connected to organizations nationally and across Washington State. Partners and coalitions include a range of organizations that promote democracy, environmental issues, social and economic policy, and other issues such as cybersecurity, climate change and quality of life for senior citizens.

We maintain partnerships or coalitions with these organizations
