We will discuss Solito: A Memoir, by Javier Zamora. The author describes traveling alone for three months in 1999 from his rural El Salvadorian village through Guatemala and Mexico, and across the U.S. border. Longing to be reunited with his parents Javier took this three-thousand-mile immigrant journey when he was just nine years of age. The journey tells us of the universal need to find connections even from the songs on the radio and with the strangers met on a journey.
